Le robot Murata Boy, peut avancer et rester en équilibre sur son vélo, même à l’arrêt grâce à deux capteurs gyroscopiques. Un capteur antichoc lui permet de détecter les surfaces accidentées, et peut éviter les obstacles grâce à un capteur à ultra-son.

Meme s’il ne fait que du vélo pour le moment avec un equilibre et des arrrets net en velo, il faut imaginer un robot équipé de ce systeme gyroscopique d’équilibre sur 2 jambes… je tiens les paris que nous le verront marcher sur une poutre dans moins de 2 ans…

i-SOBOT 

La société japonaise Takara Tomy, va lancer l’été prochain, un robot destiné aux 20-30 ans. Au pays du soleil levant comme en France, ils sont nombreux les grands enfants à avoir passé du temps devant Goldorak et ses confrères comme Gundam. Voilà donc un jouet pour les adultes qui devraient satisfaire les nostalgiques: “Avec l’i-SOBOT vous pouvez réaliser votre rêve: contrôler votre propre robot”, a expliqué le directeur général de Takara Tomy, Hiroshi Kobayashi. Il sera lancé en juillet au prix de 29.800 yens (190 euros), un prix assez abordable dans le domaine. i-SOBOT mesure 16,5 cm et est contrôllé par une télécommande assez imposante. Il devrait pouvoir jouer quelques notes de musique, dancer, marcher et répondre à quelques ordres vocaux préprogrammés. Une version plus sophistiquée intègrera une caméra à la place de l’oeil et permettra d’envoyer des images sur votre téléphone portable via sa connexion Wifi. Cette version sortira en octobre 2007 pour 39.800 Yens

We won’t beat around the bush: there’s just no way that Takara Tomy’s claim of “the world’s smallest robot” for its new Omnibot2007 i-SOBOT humanoid is even remotely true, but as far as fairly well-articulated humanoid biped toy bots that are about to be available for sale, we could see the 6.6-inch tall i-SOBOT taking that crown. Now that we’ve got the extravagant claims out of the way, there’s a lot to love about the i-SOBOT, including an LCD-equipped remote for having the bot act out programmed motions, and voice control for dictating simple actions. The bot can play music, dance, and respond to applause and other user actions. The bot can also make its own punching and kicking sound effects, so we can imagine some entertaining robo-duels with a pair of these things. If that’s not quite enough excitement for you, Takara Tomy is also prepping the Omnibot2007 i-SOBOT CAMVersion (pictured), which includes a camera that can beam pics to your PC or phone via WiFi, and whose head can swivel 60 degrees in each direction. The cam-free model should be out in July for 31,290 yen (about $258 US), while the CAMVersion bot will run you 41,790 yen ($344 US) when it debuts in October.
